Seminarian on Placement

My name is Ben Sinclair, I’m a seminarian for the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle currently studying at the Venerable English College in Rome. I have been brought up in the diocese and my home parish is in Billingham, where I have lived since my childhood. After finishing school I studied French, Italian and Geography at Newcastle University, and it was during this time of my life that I started discerning a priestly vocation. After a year of discernment with the diocese I was accepted for formation and, in addition to my studies in Valladolid, Spain, and Rome, I have had some wonderful placements in Ashington and Heaton.

I am very much looking forward to meeting you and getting to know the parish community in the city of Durham. I am sure I have a lot to learn from you and I will certainly keep you in my prayers as I prepare to arrive. I ask you to do the same for me and especially for an increase in vocations to the priesthood.
