For more than half a century the Catholic Chaplaincy, based at St Cuthbert’s Church, has served the community of Catholics studying, researching and teaching at Durham University. Having grown out of a Cathedral school and with its Christian heritage visible all around, Durham as a secular university remains very open to the practice of the faith.

With an excellent department of Theology and Religion and the presence of the Centre for Catholic Studies, Durham provides a great opportunity to think more about your Catholic faith, whatever subject you may be studying.

Whether you are a Catholic student, member of staff or alumnus of Durham, or just browsing, you will find a warm welcome at the Chaplaincy and here in its virtual presence!
