If you’re arriving at university in the middle of a pandemic, you may be wondering what your first year will be like. Fr. Andrew and everyone at the Catholic Chaplaincy are here for you, a welcoming community where you can grow in your faith and make friends.
The Chaplaincy is based at St. Cuthbert’s church, and the church is open for Mass and for prayer. The capacity of the church is limited to 36 people under the diocesan Risk Assessment, so not everyone will be able to come to Sunday Mass. But there are Masses throughout the week, and you may want to come along to one of those if you aren’t able to book for Sunday Mass, to find us and to say hello. And you can also join our Sunday Gospel Reflection on Zoom.
Mass will be celebrated at St Cuthbert’s on Sunday 11th at 10:00am and 6.30pm, and Sunday 18th October at 10.00am and 6:30pm. If you wish to attend Sunday Mass, you must request a place, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or telephoning 0191 384 3442. You will be asked to give a contact telephone number.
For the public Masses during the week, you can attend without prior booking, but you will be asked for contact details:
Tuesday 13th: 12.15pm
Wednesday 14th: 7.00pm
Thursday 15th: 5.15pm
Friday 16th: 12.15pm
Saturday 17th: 9.15am
We’ll be offering a mix of online and face-to-face events for students and staff during the coming year, and there’ll be more details shortly. So please let us know that you’re here, by signing up for the Catholic Chaplaincy mailing list.
