Cathsoc Night
|CathSoc Night is the main mid-week student gathering at the Chaplaincy, taking place each Wednesday after the 7:00pm Mass (so at about 7:30pm). We gather for a shared meal, and then conclude with prayer (at about 9:00pm). You are very welcome to come along for as little or as much of the evening as you like, and it is not unheard of for discussions to continue afterwards in a local hostelry!
The theme of CathSoc Night this week is ‘The Call to Married Life’. Dr. Medi Volpe and her husband Prof. Lewis Ayres both work in the Theology department here in Durham and are parishioners of our very own St. Cuthbert’s Church. They have four young children. In a society where fewer marriages are occurring and children are seen as a financial drain, Dr. Volpe will speak on why marriage is worth it.
