CathSoc Night – World Youth Day

10854399_622841831193636_1873226958408567579_oCathSoc Night is the main mid-week student gathering at the Chaplaincy, taking place each Wednesday after the 7:00pm Mass (so at about 7:30pm). We gather for a shared meal, talk (at about 8:00pm) and discussion, and then conclude with prayer (at about 9:00pm). You are very welcome to come along for as little or as much of the evening as you like, and it is not unheard of for discussions to continue afterward in a local hostelry!

On Wednesday 2 December, fr. Gregory Pearson OP of St Dominic’s Priory, London, will celebrate the Mass and then talk to us about World Youth Day (WYD) – taking place in Krakow in July 2016. In particular he’ll be telling us about the Dominican Youth Movement (DYM) Pilgrimage 22 July – 1 August 2016 which will stop at various sites along the way, including Colditz Castle! Our destination of Krakow is a place especially dear to the Dominicans, as there has been an unbroken presence of friars there since the 13th century.

For more information about the pilgrimage, see the facebook event page at https://www.facebook.com/events/780053882049351/.

The cost is £650, including all transport (from and to London), accommodation, meals, and WYD registration fees. You can book on-line at https://goo.gl/qmKnqN; a £50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your place. If you have any questions before you book, email fr. Gregory at wyd@english.op.org. Some financial assistance may be available for those for whom cost might be a problem.
