For any students who are already back in Durham, you are very welcome to come along to the parish film and pizza night. We will be showing the film “I, Daniel Blake” on Friday 29 September in the Parish Room. Doors open at 6:30pm with pizza and refreshment and we will screen the film at about 7:00pm. Mark Kermode, critic for the Guardian wrote of the film: For all its raw anger at the impersonal mistreatment of a single mother and an ailing widower in depressed but resilient Newcastle, Paul Laverty’s brilliantly insightful script finds much that is moving (and often surprisingly funny) in the unbreakable social bonds of so-called “broken Britain”. It is a film worth watching and all are welcome. Warning: may contain Geordie accents!
